Light rains bring relief from heat
Hyderabad: Thanks to overnight rain and cloudy weather, the highest day temperature in Medak fell by one degree to 42, the Met department bulletin said on Monday. The other maximum temperature registered in Hakimpet was 39 degrees Celsius and in Dundigal 38.
In a warning to the State, the bulletin warned of thunderstorms with gusty winds with speeds of 30 to 40 kmph and lightning are likely to occur on May 14 at isolated places in Nagarkurnool, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Khammam, Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Mahbubabad and Jaishankar Bhupalpally districts.
The rain is caused by the trough from Rayalseema to the Comorin area at 0.9 km above the mean sea level now runs from Telangana to Comorin area across Rayalaseema and interior Tamil Nadu.
According to the bulletin, on Monday isolated rain occurred across Telangana, covering 25 per cent of the areas. The highest maximum temperature was 44 degrees Celsius recorded at Ramagundam, Adilabad and Nizamabad. The other temperatures were: Mahabubnagar 41, Bhadrachalam & Nalgonda 40, Hyderabad 39, Hanmakonda 38.
