Locals irked over defunct streetlights

Old Bowenpally: The residents and commuters of MMR Gardens lane at Old Bowenpally here are a miffed lot over the non-functioning of the street lights. It has been weeks since the street lights were out of order. Residents alleged that though there were many representations made to concerned authorities, no one turned up to resolve the problem.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Sunday, Sai Kumar, a resident said that they were facing problems while passing this way during the night, as it is a busy route. He also said that locals over here have many times complained to the authorities to fix the streetlights in this area but in vain. As darkness sets in, traffic snarls are witnessed on this road often and there are two light posts but neither has a light.

R Ravi, local said apart from the damaged street lights, traffic snarls keep occurring frequently, as they were no officials to monitor the situation. Despite several complaints made verbally, sending messages through social media and making representations from the local residents of this area to officials concerned, no concrete step has been taken till now, Ravi lamented.
