Locals, motorists fume over bad road
Old Alwal: Resident of St.Michael School lane in Old Alwal demanded a cement concrete road in their locality. Due to the negligence of the governance, roads are not laid with the result that residents are facing hardships. Around 200 families reside in the area and bad condition of the road is endangering more than 300 school-going students.
The uneven stretch is creating a big trouble to the commuters every time. This road witnesses a huge amount of traffic flow towards the main roads and other routes. Many people fall off vehicles due to slippery mud. Numerous minor accidents have occurred on this road in the past. Two-wheeler riders are the worst affected. Adding to the bad condition of the roads, poor illumination on this stretch at nights is another problem that people need to face, the stretch is nothing but a heap of sand and soil, broken bricks and broken debris.
"Motorcyclists can be seen applying brakes suddenly due to fully occupied potholes at these troublesome roads and being affected with injuries," rue commuters, while speaking to The Hans India here on Sunday.
"This stretch is not only affecting motorists but also school students. Pedestrians are facing immense hardships to walk on it," said Sunil Ainlod. Pallaban, a shopkeeper, said they had complained about this issue to the concerned officials, but no action was taken. The locals of this area say it is very difficult to travel on these roads and that they have been facing extreme inconveniences for months.
