Make a Wish Foundation fulfils a girl's wish

Hyderabad: Gleneagles Global Hospitals along with Make a Wish Foundation on Monday fulfilled the dream of seven-year-old Medipalli Sruthi to become a doctor. Make a Wish Foundation brought this child to the Gleneagles Global Hospitals, Lakdi-Ka-Pul, where she was received by a team of doctors and was taken around for a facility tour and was later on felicitated by the team at Gleneagles Global Hospitals.

Dr Rahul Medakkar, CEO of Gleneagles Global Hospitals, said, "Fulfilling someone's dream is the truest sense of happiness. Every child at Make a Wish Foundation has a story of his / her own. Some of them may live entire life with the ailment and some may know that they won't live long to see their dream come true. On this National Doctors' Day, we at Gleneagles Global Hospitals would like to fulfil the dreams of these young children, who want to become doctors and see the joy on those little faces".

Dr Kona S Lakshmi Kumari, Sr Consultant - Surgical Gastroenterology, Minimal Access GI Surgery & Bariatric Surgery, said, "It was an exhilarating experience to have interacted with this bright young kid from the Make a Wish Foundation and to see the joy on her face when she donned the apron and became a doctor albeit for a day. We are so glad that we could play a small role in fulfilling the desires and dreams of this kid on this National Doctors' Day".

Medipalli Sruthi who had visited Gleneagles Global Hospitals to realise her dream of becoming a doctor, said," I got a taste of what being a doctor would feel like, though just for a day. It was an unimaginable experience and I am thankful to the team at Gleneagles Global hospitals, Hyderabad for the opportunity. They gave us access to unique and exciting experiences that I may not have had otherwise."
