Mala Mahanadu dharna in Delhi enters 2nd day
Hyderabad: The Mala Mahanadu dharna opposing the categorisation of the scheduled castes at Jantar-Mantar in New Delhi continued for the second day on Monday.
Addressing the participants, Mala Mahanadu national president Chennayya alleged that political parties were trying to divide dalits and thrive. He claimed that the SC categorisation was being opposed only to keep Dalits away from power.
According to Chennayya, the SC categorisation was no more relevant after the re-organisation of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh into AP and Telangana. He appealed to dalits to be united for securing power, which alone would help solve their problems.
The Mala Mahanadu chief submitted a representation to chairman of National SC Commission Ram Shankar urging him to respect the ruling of the Supreme Court and the National SC Commission on SC categorisastion. Among those who took part in the dharna were Mala Mahanadu leaders Gangaram, John Paul, Janga Srinivas, Bhaskar and Gaddam Gitanjali.
