Manda Krishna, police spar at dharna venue
Musheerabad: MRPS president Manda Krishna Madiga on Tuesday visited the Dharna Chowk to review the arrangements for 'Maha Garjana to be organised on May 8. He went to decide where the dais could be arranged. However, the police maintained that the stage could be on one side.
Manda Krishna insisted that since a large gathering was expected a wider area should be provided. The police stated that a decision would be taken after briefing their higher-ups.
Later speaking to press persons, the MRPS leader asserted that 'injustice' was being done to Dr BR Ambedkar. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was not bothering to show due respect to Dr Ambedkar and the government officials themselves were overseeing demolition of his statue. He stated that thousands of Harijans, Girijans and Ambedkarites would attend the Garjana to oppose KCR's 'anti-Ambedkar policies.'
Manda Krishna demanded re-installation of the demolished Ambedkar statue at the same spot as well as stringent action against the officials concerned. He demanded that KCR apologise for the statue's demolition. MRPS leader Ramesh and Dilip of Mala Mahanadu were present.
