Maududi teachings more pertinent now than ever
Hyderabad: "To decimate communal hatred and spread the message of peace and harmony, Muslims must preach Islam in the language understood by the people of the said geographical area, believed Maulana Abul Ala Maudidi, the founder of Jamaat-e-Islami," observed Muslim intellectuals and scholars.
Speaking during the release of the book written in Urdu on 'The life and achievements of Maulana Abul Ala Maududi' on Thursday evening, by the renowned scholar Ahmed Abu Sayeed, Muslim scholars said Maulana Maududi's teachings were more essential in the present times at a time when the country was going through a socio-political change.
Maulana Maudidi was not only an exegesist of the Holy Quran but also a philosopher, jurist and journalist, the said. Professor Mohsin Usman Nadvi presided over the function. Maulana Hamid Mohammed Khan, president of Jamaat-e-Islami (Telangana), MESCO secretary Dr Fakhruddin Mohammed, Dr Rafiuddin Farooqui, Dr Mujtaba Farooque, Dr Faheemuddin, Maulana Rahmatullah Shareef and Dr Islamuddin Mujahid spoke on the different aspects of the life and services of Maulana Maududi. Asif Al Amoodi was also present on this occasion.
The author who compiled many books on the works of Maulana Maududi covered the chronology of the events in the life of revolutionary Ameer (leader) of the Jamaat-e-Islami in his voluminous book. Gawah Urdu Weekly editor Dr Syed Fazil Hussain Parvez presented a vote of thanks.
