MBT leader Amjedullah Khan goes to rescue of Indian woman in Sharjah
Chanchalguda: A Bengalurean woman currently staying in Sharjah has sought help from the Indian authorities to rescue her from her husband. She tweeted MBT leader Amjedullah Khan to take up her case with the Indian authorities on Monday.
Responding to tweet of Jasmine Sultana, the victim of domestic violence, Amjedullah Khan forwarded the tweet tagging it to Dr Subramanian Jaishankar, Minister for External Affairs, and the Indian Embassy in UAE. "Jasmine Sultana tweeted for help, as she is being tortured by her husband Mohammed Khizarullah. She wants to go back to Bengaluru with her two kids. Immediately responding to the tweet to rescue her from her husband, I tagged Minister and other higher authorities," informed Amjedullah.
According to Amjedullah, the Indian embassy officials reacted swiftly and contacted her and with the help of Sharjah police rescued her and shifted her to Indian embassy's shelter home, after counseling her husband. She is now being sent back to her home in Bengaluru.
