MCR HRDI honing skills of tribal school teachers

Jubilee Hills: Satyavathi Rathod, the Minister for Tribal Welfare & Women & Child Welfare, released Teachers Manual and Students Workbooks during the Intensive Training Programme for Tribal Welfare Department of Telangana, at Dr MCR HRD Institute on Tuesday.

Addressing a meeting on the occasion, the minister noted that selection of the Tribal Welfare Department of Telangana by the DoPT for imparting training to all its employees was the first-of-its-kind initiative in the entire country and added that its successful implementation would be greatly instrumental in replicating this experiment across the length and breadth of the country.

Rathod said that the Teachers Manual and Students Workbooks would benefit a whopping one lakh students and over 3,000 teachers across the State. She said that the programme which involved imparting of training to the entire staff of 5,476 from across the State, would be greatly helpful in improving their knowledge, skills, and attitudes, discharging their duties with a professional touch, and thereby emerging as a role model not only in the Telangana State but also in the entire country.

B P Acharya, DG, Dr MCR HRD Institute, said, "...mere enthusiasm is not enough. It calls for high levels of competence on the part of employees and the opportunities to undergo continuous training, provided by the DoPT, would go a long way in empowering the employees to contribute their mite to making the dream of Bangaru Telangana a vibrant reality."

Benhur Mahesh Dutt Ekka, the Secretary (Tribal Welfare), said that the world of work was changing at a fast pace and, in this scenario, the employees of the tribal welfare department should attend the training programs on a continuous basis and keep their skill set current and up-to-date.

Christina Z Chonghu, the Commissioner (Tribal Welfare), said that the training modules, which have been developed in the light of a training needs analysis, in a systematic and scientific fashion, would go a long way in empowering the employees in achieving the cherished goals of the department.

Rathod released two Telangana lifestyle-related documents and Telugu version of COMMIT Modules. On this occasion, floral tributes were paid to S R Sankaran, an illustrious IAS oficer, on his birth anniversary. M P Sethy, Chief Consultant (e-Learning & Training), welcomed the gathering. S M Nabi. Director (Training) proposed a vote of thanks. Srinivas Madhav, senior faculty, conducted the proceedings of the function.
