Medak MP tells Gurukul girls to shine in sports
Patancheru: Medak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy on Tuesday advised Gurukul girl students to shine in sporting event of their choice, along with studies, so as to rise to international level.
Speaking after inaugurating the Sixth State-level girls SWERO Olympic Sports Competitions at Chitkul Social Welfare Gurukul School, along with Gurukul Additional Secretary Uma Devi and MLC Ragotham Reddy, the MP stated that thanks to the encouragement being given by the TRS government, the State was on the top with regard to provision of facilities.
He said this was in contrast to the situation in the past when donations had to be sought for organising Gurukul sports events. Now the Chitkul school had 22 acres. This was laudable as no other Gurukul school in the State had so much land.
The MP remarked that the availability of so much land could facilitate holding of national-level sports events. Referring to encroachment of 2 acres of the school, he warned that the land-grabber would not be spared. Reddy pledged to provide his MPLADS funds for laying cement road to the school. In her address, Uma devi stated that Gurukul girls from across the State were participating in the competitions.
Among those present were Gurukul Joint Secretaries Fakru Naik, Venkatalakshmi, State Sports Officer Rama Lakshman, Regional Coordinator Balaswamy, Principal Ravinder Reddy and former MPP Srisailam.
