Medchal: Civic bodies told to draft Pattana Pragathi plans

Medchal: Medchal-Malkajgiri District Collector Vasam Venkateshwaram held a video conference with municipal commissioners and MPDOs to review 'Pattana Pragathi' and Haritha Haram programmes in the districts, at the Collectorate on here on Sunday.

Speaking at the meeting, the Collector instructed MPDOs and municipal commissioners to hold Prajawani meetings on every Monday. He ordered Municipal Commissioners to prepare plan of action for 'Pattana Pragathi' programme initiated by the state government for the development of urban bodies.

The Collector instructed officials to form four special committees, one each for 'Haritha Haram,' youth, senior citizens and women, and appoint special officer before February 17. He advised officials to draw inspiration from 'Palle Pragathi' programme and take measures to enhance greenery and cleanliness in urban areas. He ordered the officials to complete collection of property taxes, water cess and trade fees before March 20. Officials were instructed to lay special focus on trade licenses.

On the arrangements to be made for Haritha Haram programme, he ordered officials take measures to protect saplings and grow new nurseries for the next year. Collector instructed municipal commissioners to conduct daily field inspections to maintain cleanliness.

He also suggested officials to take measures to build toilets, especially for women, and ensure that they were properly maintained. Additional Collectors Vidyasagar and Samsung, DFO Sudhakar Reddy, DRDO Jyothi, other district officials and staff participated in the meeting.
