Hyderabad: Telangana State Minority Welfare Department is implementing a unique scheme - "Sponsoring 100 minority candidates to get coaching from private reputed institutions for All India Services examinations".

Under this scheme, 100 candidates have been selected through screening test conducted throughout the State. The selected candidates can choose coaching centre of their choice from empaneled Institutions, for which the entire fees would be paid by the government and the scheme entails a stipend to the candidates.

In this connection, a counselling session was held at TMREIS Head Office, in which 5 empaneled institutions like Analog, Brain Tree, RC Reddy, Vision IAS Institute and Hyderabad Study Circle participated and gave their presentation.

Addressing the counselling session, AK Khan, president TMREIS, described this as a unique scheme, considering that the government was making efforts to overcome the under-representation of Muslims and other minorities in IAS and IPS.

Minorities Welfare Director and Telangana State Minorities Study Circle Director Shahnawaz Qasim cautioned the candidates to put in sincere efforts for realising their dream of becoming an IAS and IPS.

TMREIS Secretary B Shafiullah said that the Chief Minister of Telangana wants the minorities to get these positions through competitive examinations. If minority students get selected in IPS and IAS, they could ensure proper implementation of welfare schemes for their community.
