MLA Arekapudi Gandhi & MP Dr G Ranjith Reddy present Bathukamma sarees at Cyber Convention Centre

Serilingampally: Local MLA Arekapudi Gandhi along with Chevella MP Dr G Ranjith Reddy and Corporators Hameed Patel, Saibaba, Meka Ramesh, Pujitha Jagdishwar Goud and Navatha Reddy on Tuesday distributed Bathukamma sarees to beneficiaries at Cyber Convention Centre, Khanamet, in Madhapur division.

Addressing the gathering, the MLA stated that the State government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao were gifting free sarees to poor women as 'sare for adapaduchulu' in their honour in connection with the Bathukamma festival. He also pointed out that the government was popularising the Telangana tradition of celebrating the Bathukamma festival across the world.

Expressing happiness at being able to distribute the saris, Gandhi said there were 1.15 lakh beneficiaries in the Serilingampally constituency. He conveyed special thanks to KCR and TRS Working President K Tarakarama Rao.

Among those present were project officers Vatsala Devi, Geeta, AMOH Ravi Kumar, TRS leaders Sanjiva Reddy, Uppalapati Srikanth, Narne Srinivas, Yerragudla Srinivas Yadav, Vidyasagar, Jangayya Yadav, Gummadi Srinu, Ramchandar, Jangam Goud, Pochayya, and a large number of women.
