Monsoon turns vigorous

Medak: As Southwest Monsoon turned vigorous over Telangana under the influence of depression in Bay of Bengal, rain occurred at most places, including Medak and Siddipet districts, during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Wednesday While there was 3 cm rainfall in Ramayampet , there was 2 cm each rain in Medak, Mirdoddi, Doultabad, Dubbak and Bejjanki , the Met department bulletin said.

There was 1 cm rainfall each in Kondapak, Tandur, Chegunta, Dindigul, Nangnoor, Gajwel, Doma, Varni, Kodangal, Narayankhed and Kowdipalle. The bulletin warned that heavy rains are very likely to occur on August 8 at isolated places in Telangana, as the deep depression over the north-west Bay of Bengal off north Odisha­West Bengal coasts moved north-westwards and intensified into a deep depression over region and centred at 5.30 am on Wednesday. It lay centered over the region at 8.30 am south-southwest of Digha (West Bengal).
