More rains forecast in next 48 hours

Vikarabad: The Southwest Monsoon continues to be normal across Telangana, with rain occurring in Vikarabad, Medak, Siddipet and Sangareddy districts during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Sunday.

According to the Met department bulletin, the chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) were: Peddemul (Vikarabad) 4, Mominpet & Nawabpet (both Vikarabad) 3 each; Two cm each in Vikarabad, Marpalle, Kowdipalle, Papannapet, Ramayampet, Tekmal, Regode, Dubbak, Narayankhed, Jogipet, Medak

The bulletin said there was one cm rain each in Doultabad, Kondapak, Kohir, Bejjanki, Narsapur, Chevella, Hathanoora, Golkonda, Chegunta,Saroornagar, Nangnoor, Mirdoddi, Bomraspeta, Doma, Wargal, Dindigul, Jagadevpur, Tupran, Maheswaram and Serilingampally.

The forecast said light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at many places over Telangana from August 5 to 8. No large change during the period August 9-11 is the weather outlook. A fresh low pressure area is likely to form over the north-east Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood during next 48 hours, and bring more rain.

According to the bulletin, the cyclonic circulation over the north-west Bay and the adjoining coastal areas of West Bengal and Odisha now lies over Gangetic WB and the adjoining north Bay and Bangladesh.
