MPs meet SCR GM, seek new trains & amenities
Secunderabad: MP Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy, Bhongir, and Badugula Lingaiah Yadav, MP (Rajya Sabha), Suryapet, called on South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Gajanan Mallya here on Friday.
The GM briefed the MPs on the various initiatives being taken up by the zone towards green environment, water conservation, security and safety. He also briefed them on the progress of infrastructure facilities and improvement of the passenger amenities over the zone.
He said that conversion of conventional trains with LHB coaches is being taken up in a big war for providing safe and comfortable rail journey. The demands raised by the MPs include stoppage of trains at Raigir station for convenience of passengers visiting Yadadri. Introduction of MMTS train service to Yadadri and renaming of Raigir Station as Yadadri was also sought.
MPs also requested new lines, new trains, extension of existing services, additional stoppages to existing trains, construction of RoBs, RuBs, FoBs, better passenger amenities etc at railway stations in the jurisdiction of their constituencies.South Central Railway principal heads of departments, divisional railway managers of Secunderabad, Guntakal and Guntur Divisions attended the meeting.
