Munnurukapu body flays endowment department notice

Shalibanda: Telanagana Rashtra Munnurukapu Yuvaka Mandali has demanded that the State government stop the process of trust board formation and give exemption to their community's Munnurukapu Vidyarthi Vasathi Gruham Trust (MKVVGT) located at Kacheguda.

State Youth Congress spokesperson and Telangana Rashtra Munnurukapu Yuvaka Mandali vice-president SP Kranthi Kumar said that on November 11, Endowment Secretary had issued a paper notification for formation of 13 temple trusts and unfortunately in that notification MKVVGT name was also published.

He said the MKVVGT premises was not any temple or temple-related trust land and in 1965 the then elders of Munnurukapu community purchased this private land and formed a trust board with a noble intention. They constructed the MKVVGT building with boys hostel on first floor and shops on ground floor.

With the income generated from the hall and shop rents, the trust shall in future help poor Munnurukapu community people. The MKVVGT building was constructed with the funds and donations of Munnuruukapu community people only, he explained.

Later after some years, due to some reason the trust was placed under the Endowment Department. In 2012, the then Principal Secretary Endowments Chitra Ramchandran issued a GO No. 1573 and gave exemption of 5 years to MKVVGT on the requests made by Munnurukapu political leaders and then AP Munnurukapu Maha Sabha.

"But now after all these years, the Endowment notification calling applications to form a trust board for MKVVGT is really a shocking news to the community people, particularly the youth," said Kranthi Kumar.

He wondered when the State government was not involved in any other caste property matters or trusts of communities like Reddy, Veluma, Kamma etc., then why only Munnurukapu community which had a larger population in backward classes and economically still was being treated separately.
