Nala wall collapses; colony inundated

Musheerabad: Residents of Padma Colony in Adikmet division underwent severe hardships as several houses were inundated due to heavy rains that lashed the city on Tuesday evening.

The retaining wall of drainage nala passing through the colony collapsed due to heavy flow of flood water and sewage water inundated several houses, causing severe inconvenience and immense damage. Locals alleged that officials failed to take necessary action to prevent flooding of low-lying areas.

Students residing in social welfare girls' hostel at Bholakpur, too, faced hardships as rainwater inundated the hostel building. Water entered several houses in low-lying areas of Bapu Nagar of Musheerabad division too and residents spent sleepless night. Musheerabad MLA Muta Gopal visited the girl's hostel and later he also inspected the retaining wall that collapsed in Padma Colony.
