Narrow escape for RTC bus passengers

Patancheru: The engine of a running Metro luxury RTC bus of BHEL depot caught fire on the national highway allegedly due to a short-circuit on Thursday afternoon. It was coming to Patancheru from Dilsukhnagar.

Fortunately, none was injured in the incident. Motorists who noticed the fire emanating in the rear portion of the vehicle immediately alerted the driver. The driver stopped the vehicle at roadside and made passengers disembark.

He informed fire-fighting equipment from the nearby bank and the latter rushed to the spot and doused the blaze. The mishap was caused by severe heat, according to the driver.
