National Academy of Agricultural Research Management secures agricultural education project
Rajendranagar: NAARM (National Academy of Agricultural Research Management) has been awarded World Bank-funded NAHEP (National Agricultural Higher Education Project) project. The project named as component 2A is explained as 'Investments in Indian Council of Agricultural Research Leadership in Agricultural Higher Education.'
The implementation agencies are Indian Agricultural Statistical Research Institute, New Delhi (IASRI), National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), Hyderabad, and National Institute of Agricultural Economics and Policy Research, New Delhi, with a budget outlay of Rs 69.41 crores for the period of three years.
According to NAARM officials, the major objectives of the component 2A entrusted to NAARM are: to establish partnerships with globally recognized agricultural higher education institutions; to promote the establishment of career development centre at agricultural universities; to improve curricula review processes and methods to consolidate and disseminate global best practices in agricultural education; to assist agricultural universities in strengthening their linkages with industry; and, structuring dialogue with state government to catalyse their participation in raising the quality and relevance of agricultural higher education.
