National Nutrition Week celebrated

Secunderabad: Celebrating the National Nutrition Week, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Secunderabad organised an awareness program for the general public to help understand the nutritional requirements from infants to geriatrics.

The programme included the demonstration of healthier recipes, nutrition charts and pep talks on healthy eating. The main aim behind this program was to Help people to choose wisely for better health.

National Nutrition Week is usually celebrated in the first week (September 1-7) to create awareness among people regarding nutrition. A healthy recipe exhibition was conducted at which the food and nutrition department of KIMS Hospitals demonstrated some healthy recipes like Rainbow Pizza, Multigrain Rotis, Parathas and Dosas.

The team successfully displayed the healthy ways and recipes which will grab the attention of toddlers and kids and proportions in which each ingredient needed to be added for healthier life during old age.

The nutritionists also explained the advantages of different ingredients like flax seeds, oats, semolina, lentils, fruits, and vegetables, etc, according to Tulasi, Consultant Nutritionist, KIMS Hospitals."
