NRIs urge Krishnaiah for new BC party
Vidyanagar: Several NRIs urged national president of BC welfare association R Krishnaiah to form a new political party for BCs in Telangana. R Krishnaiah was felicitated by NRIs in a program organized at Dallas city of Texas state in the USA on Sunday.
The NRIs, speaking on the occasion, stressed on the need for a new political party for BCs as severe injustice was being done to them in various sectors. Although BC feeling is strong in the state, the media in the state had been preventing BC leadership from emerging, they opined.
The speakers extended their support to Krishnaiah for forming a new political party and decided to organize a conference in April/May months. Most speakers contended that the development of BCs would be possible only when 50 per cent reservations in legislatures is allotted to them.
Speaking on the occasion, R Krishnaiah stressed on the need for 50 per cent reservations and bringing a separate BC Act for the welfare of the community for their development. He said he would strive to fight until BCs get proper representation in legislatures. International coordinator of BCs Ravindra Babu presided over the meeting. Noted doctor Dr Akula Nanda Kishore, engineers and doctors from BC community and others attended the meeting.
