Official apathy keeping jobless on the edge: Joint Action Committee

Khairatabad: The Unemployed Joint Action Committee (JAC) on Monday contended that the alleged negligent attitude of the government was giving rise to an insecure feeling among the unemployed. It also caused among them a sense of disappointment, said JAC chairman Neelam Venkatesh.

Addressing a meeting at Press Club here, he pointed out due to flaws in job announcements and negligence of the officials concerned, cases were pending in the TS High Court on Group I to IV, PR secretariat, VROs, VRAs and many other posts.

Venkatesh urged the government to detect the flaws leading to pendency of the cases and correct them immediately, thus paving way for steps to create new jobs. He claimed that there was an unprecedented rise in the number of unemployed across Telangana. He estimated that eight lakh unemployed were waiting for jobs.

The JAC appealed to the government to give up its negligent attitude and immediately fill up 2.3 lakh vacancies in various departments. Among those present at the meeting were Telangana BC Welfare Association president Erra Satyanarayana, general secretary of Yuvajana Sangham G Anantayya, Greater Hyderabad president Mahender Goud.
