Officials fully gear up for polling today

Musheerabad: Elections officials have made all the arrangements for conduct of smooth Parliament elections. On Wednesday, EVMs and other election related equipment were handed over to the election staff at various Distribution and Reception centers (DRC).

Equipment and EVMS were sent from the DRCs arranged for Nampally and Musheerabad assembly segments at Lal Bahadur Stadium. EVMs were sent to the respective polling station in buses with adequate security. Before handing over the equipment, election officials briefed the poll staff on the rules and regulations to be followed during the elections.

Mohammad Khaja Ali, assistant returning officer of Nampally assembly segment, said a total of 276 EVMs and VVPATs will be used in the elections in Nampally segment and 566 additional EVMs are kept ready for emergency use. A total of 11,000 employees, 26 route officers, and 26 sector officers are performing poll duties in the Nampally segment, he said.

Musheerabad ARO Uma Prakash said that a total of 1100 employees are assigned with poll duties in Musheerabad segment and polling equipment would reach the polling station by Wednesday evening. Mock polling would be held at 6 am on the election day and polling would begin at 7 am. Uma urged voters to utilize their right to vote.
