Open drain needs immediate repairs

KPHB: The drainage system at KPHB Road No 1 is left open for many years. The drainage system is not being maintained well. The drain does not have a cover or a fencing. The officials have not shown any interest in repairing and maintaining the drain.

The open drain has become a haven for the mosquitoes. The locals fear of an epidemic from vector-borne diseases. With just a little rain, the drain starts overflowing causing inconvenience to the pedestrians and motorists.

People have to cover their noses while traversing the area due to the foul smell emanating from the open nala. The local corporator should initiate action to repair the drainage system. The residents have intimated the GHMC to cover and fence the drain, but till now there has been no response.
