Open drains remain a major worry in Bolarum

Bolarum: The residents residing in Bolarum, Turkapally, Macha Bolarum are facing health issues due to the partially completion of box drain. The locals allege the open drain is emitting malodorous smell which is creating health and sanitation issues.

Said Amit J, a local resident: "I request the authorities concerned to immediately start repair works of roads and sanitation works for betterment of Bolarum people. Health concerns remain wherever drainage water is stagnated, as they are becoming breeding ground for mosquitoes."

Y Maheshwar, GHMC Executive Engineer-Alwal, said, "These are newly developed colonies where there is no sewerage outlet. As the residents are requesting for completion of drainage facility, it will be taken up after constructing box drain."
