Open plots turning into dumpyards

Srinivasa Nagar: Open plots in the colonies of the city, which are turning into dump yards, have been causing a huge inconvenience to the residents as well as commuters. An open plot in Srinivasa Nagar turned into a dump yard. Some of the residents have been throwing garbage and plastic waste in the open plot which is causing troubles to the nearby locals.

Laksmi R, a resident of the area said, "This has been causing a lot of inconvenience to us. During the night-time there are many mosquitoes and malodorous smell, due to which we cannot even open the doors and windows. There is also the danger of street dogs. From the past few months the number of street dogs has been increased a lot. This issue is not only in this particular area but in other areas as well. Why aren't the authorities concerned taking any kind of action for the same?"

Govind P, a owner of Rajeshwari Kirana and General stores said, "It has been for months that people of this area and the other nearby areas residents dumping their garbage here. There are three garbage boxes kept here in this plot to throw their garbage in, but still people throw it here and there in the area. The main reason of this is that the garbage from the bin's is not been removed on a regular basis."
