Osmania University founder remembered
Osmania University: The 53rd birth anniversary of the founder of Osmania University, 7th Nizam Mir Usman Ali Khan, was commemorated here on Monday. Dalit and Minority Students Association (DMSA) State President Dudapaka Naresh organized the programme. On this occasion, students, student organizations and professors demanded for resolving the issues in the University.
They also demanded to appoint Vice-Chancellors in all universities which are vacant in Telangana at the earliest. They requested to fill the vacant teaching and non-teaching posts in universities. They requested authorities to protect the Osmania University lands.
They added, "Nizam King had allocated 11% of its budget to education every year since the establishment of the university. But now the present government is not interested in developing higher education." They demanded government to allocate 7% budget to education every year.
Professor Dr Gali Vinod Kumar, professor Ansari, BSF President Velupula Sanjay, TALS President Ranjit, DBSA State Coordinator Jangili Darshan, MSF leader Murali, Mazeruddin, Vice President of DMSA Maddileti, Vikram, Bhaskar, Yusuf and a large number of students participated in the programme.
