Panchatatva walk at Indira Park soon
Hyderabad: Come March, health freaks would be able to make use of walking tracks that are being designed to tackle health issues such as diabetes, joint pain and over-weight. Based on acupressure concept, the walkways spread over an acre are developed, based on concepts of Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. (Panchabutas). It would be called a therapeutic garden.
The Panchatatva walk is a circular track developed using eight components that include: 20mm Stone, 10mm stone, river stone, 6mm chips, rough sand, tree bark, black soil and water. The surface in parts would be hard in a few places and smooth in other areas that would aid in blood circulation. It would cure several ailments, say experts. Rajnikanth, a senior citizen, was elated when he heard about the development. He said, "Many senior citizens visit Indira Park and quite a few have knee joint problems. This initiative by the GHMC is good."
Within the circle the place is divided in nine segments and the plants corresponding to Navagrahas are planted. Further around the track, the plants related to Zodiac signs are planted.
Four 8 shaped tracks with fixed measurements and direction are also being developed which are known to be helpful in minimising the diabetics. Overall in this area, about 40 varieties of medicinal and herbal plants which are in regular use at homestead are planted.
A sculpture of Gouthama Budha is placed in the centre and two water cascades to create pleasant sound are also being developed. Around the area seating areas are also provided. The work will be completed in full shape by 2nd week of March 2020.
