Pay 10 lakh each to kin of dengue victims: Leaders
Cantonment: Leaders of the Secunderabad Cantonment All-Party Joint Action Committee on Thursday demanded that the local people's representatives to take the blame for the recent two dengue deaths here along with the TRS government and the Cantonment Board officials.
The leaders, D B Devender, Samsonraj (Congress), Prabhu Gupta (TRS), Muppidi Madhukar (TDP) and M Narsimha (CPI), visited the dengue fever-affected persons in Rasoolpura and consoled their families. They demanded compensation of Rs 10 lakh each to kin of two victims from the board.
The leaders pointed out that although the Secunderabad Cantonment area was abutting the city, people there were living as second-class citizens, as there was no development during the last five years. They alleged that Rasoolpura lacked even the minimum facilities, with a warning of taking up a massive agitation if no steps were taken to check viral fevers in the area. Among the TRS leaders who visited the victims were Bottu Prabhakar, Sathi Reddy, Venkat Rao.
