Musheerbad: Activists of PDSU, led by its state secretary Pradeep, met the regional officer of Central Board of Film here on Thursday and submitted a memorandum demanding banning of the upcoming Telugu movie 'Degree College.'

Speaking to media after the meeting, Pradeep said that the movie has objectionable content and expressed fear that it could influence the minds of the youth in a wrong way.

Recently, a trailer of the movie was released, which has obscene and objectionable content, to which even one of the censor board members Jeevitha Rajashekhar had raised objections, he said. "If a 3-minute trailer itself has such content, we can imagine the sort of content the full movie can contain," he said.

He objected to the movie director's justification that the movie was made keeping in mind the interests of the youth and based on a real story. He condemned the obscenity in the movie. He expressed his apprehensions that youth could get influenced by such movies and indulge in criminal activities.

Many cases of rape and murder, influenced by such movies, were reported in the recent days, he said. He demanded the censor board to remove the objectionable dialogues and scenes from the movie as several people on social media have already raised their objections on the movie trailer. He appealed to the board to ensure that such objectionable content is not repeated in any of the future movies.
