People dare scorching heat to cast their vote
Karkhana: Despite the scorching heat, voters made their way to the Karkhana polling station number 60. The Government High School witnessed a lot of senior citizens visiting the poll booth to cast their vote. "A vote represents individually and it's our duty to be a part of the political happenings. I have been a regular voter and I take is as a responsibility over a right," says Mohammed Jaffer, an auto rickshaw driver.
The voting process looked slow in the early hours and first-time voters were hardly seen in the morning hours. "All our family members have come to vote today. We are using out right and hope that the best candidate wins" says Uma Maheshwari, home maker.
A lot of people made use of the GHMC devices provided for the old and handicapped. Both male and female voters took up the task and visited the booths. Ayesha Khan, a college student and a first-time voter, said "I was very excited to cast my first vote. Everything at the booth was in arrangement and I felt comfortable"
