People face hardships on bad & bumpy road

Nacharam: The lackadaisical attitude of GHMC officials over incompletion road works have been creating trouble for residents and commuters alike. Arrangements for laying road in Raghavendra Nagar were started six months ago.

But, residents urged corporator Shanthi to solve the drainage issue first. The contractors showed negligent attitude since then. However, the locals were able to mount pressure on the officials concerned and got the drainage issue solved. But, the road work has been pending for six months.

Commuters are afraid to travel on the road as it is in bad a condition. People say that it has become common for officials to prolong the works even after the deadline is touched. "We are witnessing real hell for want of proper road.

Officials are blindly trusting contractors and this is being led to huge corruption," they added. Local corporator said the delay has been due to election code. "Now, the road work will be completed on war footing note," she added.
