People's woes overflow with first rain itself

Old Alwal: Rains are back and so are the worries of residents living in different colonies on the city fringes. Potholes are greeting people as they step out of their houses. A ride on main roads has turned quite bumpy most of the stretch for motorists.

In VBR Colony, there is rainwater logging on the road which is making it difficult for people to cross this stretch. A Sakshi, resident from VBR Colony, said "With Uneven roads and potholes, inundation of the road has made it difficult for us to pass by the lane. Roads in the locality are worn out and despite repeated complaints the GHMC authorities are not bothered to re-carpet with cement roads."

K Aparna, a local resident, said "Inner lanes at several places are becoming to commute on as roads have turned uneven. This is going to worsen especially in this rainy season. Roads in the neighbouring colonies such as Suryanagar, Citizen colony, and Bhavani Nagar are also in a poor condition. It is high time authorities took up repairs to them."
