Permanent solutions nowhere in sight at Kapra

Update: 2019-11-21 00:01 IST

Saket Resident Welfare Association (SRWA) in Kapra is one of the prime colony associations of the area. The residents of the colony want the GHMC officials to wake up to their civic issues and provide them with permanent solutions.

The stormwater drain is one of the most important civic issues faced by the residents of the colony. The stormwater drain which was made to load the rainwater gets mixed up with the sewage water left from the adjacent colonies like Yellareddyguda, causing malodorous smell and mosquito menace in the colony the whole day.

Within the colony there are three gated communities Saket Pranam, Mithila and Khosla which have no proper sewage system. They lack proper sewage treatment plant due to which the sewage is let into the stormwater drain.

The BT roads were laid around 25 years ago when the colony came into being but is not relaid properly thereafter. The patch work of the roads is sanctioned with funds up to Rs 25 lakh. It is not enough to properly maintain all the roads of the colony. When the amount is spent, the officials leave the works and wait for the next release of funds.
