PJTSAU staff gesture to orphanages

Rajendranagar: The Administrative and Teaching staff of the Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) donated the food items to the Orphanage Homes at Budwel and Kismathpur of Rajendranagar mandal on Monday.

According to organisers, in view of birth anniversaries of three great souls and national leaders Dr BR Ambedkar, Dr Babu Jagjivan Ram, Jyotirao Phule, the Registrar of PJTSAU Dr S Sudheer Kumar along with university officers and Teaching and non-teaching staff of PJTSAU handed over the food items of about Rs 45,000 worth to the Orphan Homes. These include rice, Red gram, Green Gram, Groundnut oil and Coconut oil tins, sanitary napkins, notebooks, pencils and pens.

In previous year, the Jayanthi celebrations of these three great leaders and social reformers, Dr V Praveen Rao, Vice-Chancellor PJTSAU called upon staff members and suggested to do some social service to the needy instead of celebrating great leaders jayanthi within the office premises.

In response to the VC's call both the teaching and non-teaching staff and university officers contributed about Rs 65,000 for the charity purpose. With the contributions of the staff members food items and notebooks were purchased and donated to the orphans staying at the orphanage homes in Kismathpur and Budwel.
