Patancheru: State BC Commission Member Juluri Gowrishankar on Wednesday called for rendering of justice to all castes based on their social conditions.

Speaking after interacting with migrants belonging to 'Bainla Kummari' and Bathini (Sannayi) communities in Patancheru and Chitkul villages, he assured that the commission would ensure social justice to unrecognised castes, as enunciated in the constitution. He said a survey would be taken up on unrecognised castes in Patancheru mandal.

Gowrishankar undertook the tour to assess the social status of BCs so to submit a report to the State government. He was visibly moved by the plight of the migrants and expressed distress that they were living without getting the benefit of basic facilities. He said the commission found that 40 'Bainla Kummaris' were living in Patancheru, while there were 100 Bathini (Sannayi) practitioners in Chitkul.

During the interaction with practitioners of 'Dolu' musical instruments in Chitkul, he was impressed by their display. They appealed to the government to bring light into their lives, as they have been fighting for years to get their castes included in the BC list. 'No government benefits are reaching us'; they told the BC panel member.

Among those who accompanied during the tour were Sangareddy RDO Srinu, Patancheru Tahsildar Yadava Reddy.
