Secunderabad: Goddess Mahakali of Ujjaini Mahakali Temple, Secunderabad, would be seen adorning a beautiful Pochampally saree for the second time for Bonalu festival this year and the sarees are special as they were woven in the temple premises by the Pochampally weavers.

The sarees were donated by Padmashali Seva Samajam members and the Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav. Speaking to The Hans India here on Friday, Padmashali Seva Samajam, president Sudarshan said, "For the well being of our workers and their families and for increasing the number of our customers, we are donating the sarees.

This tradition started last year." On behalf of the samajam, they donated two sarees and two more sarees were donated by Talasani Srinivas Yadav and all the four sarees are being woven by the Chenetha Karmika Sangham weavers, he added.

Cherku Swamy, Chenetha Karmika Sangam president said that for weaving a single saree, it takes three days. Weaving a Pochampally saree needs lots of patience and it is done manually with Ikkat weaving machine. With the help of four or five weaving workers, we have weaved the four sarees for the deity.
