Police seize Rs 23 lakh unaccounted cash
Kukatpally: In view of parliament elections to be held on April 11, KBHB police seized cash worth Rs 23 lakh from a car and taken a person named Srinivas Goud into custody during a vehicle checking being conducted at Kukatpally.
On receiving reliable information, KPHB conducted checks near Holistic Hospital, Nizampet on March 5. Two persons Krishna Reddy and Raghavendra Reddy fled from the scene after the car in which they were travelling was stopped by the police as part of the checks. Police took the car driver Srinivas Goud into the custody.
On further investigation, it was revealed that the car was related to a resident of Vikarabad named T Revanth Reddy and it was taken by Raghavender Reddy, a resident of Kondapur, to transport money, said Kukatapally ACP P Surender Rao. The money was sent from an apartment in Nizampet and was being transported for use in the Malkajgiri Parliament constituency. CI Lakshmi Narayana said that a case was filed against the accused and attempts were being made to nab the other accused who have fled the scene.
