Poll fever grips rural parts again
Vikarabad: As the filing of nominations for the ZPTC and MPTC elections picked up the momentum, the election fever gripped up again in the rural part of the state. The district will witness two phases of election this time.
In the first phase, polls will be held in Tandur, Yalal, Peddemul, Bashirabad, Bomraspet, Kondangal, Doultabad and Bantwaram, Kotpalli mandals in Vikarabad division.
As many as 535 polling centres were set up for 107 MPTC and nine ZPTC seats. There is a total of 2,89,265 voters in the respective mandals. Tandur (40,062 voters) has the largest number of voters, and Bantwaram (16,735 voters) has the lowest number of voters. 72 polling booths in Tandur and 31 polling booths in Bantwaram were arranged.
As many as 6,14,029 people were identified as eligible to vote in local bodies. In the first phase, 2,89,265 voters will exercise their franchise at 535 polling booths for 107 MPTC seats and nine ZPTC positions.
In the second phase will be held in Vikarabad, Miminepat, Marpalli, Tharoor, Nawabootpet, Paragi, Doma, Kulkarnala and Pudur Mandal in Vikarabad Revenue Division.
A total of 3,24,764 voters are expected to vote this time. Highest voters are in Kulkacharla and the lowest voters are in Vikarabad mandals. There are 42 polling booths in Kulkacharla while 41 polling booths in Vikarabad.
A total of 6,275 personnel will be participating in local elections in the district. 3,266 personnel will be in the first phase and 3,009 staff will attend the second phase.
