Public awareness drive on Saaf Hyderabad conducted

Miyapur: GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Commissioner Dana Kishore and several corporation officials and corporators besides MLA Arekapudi Gandhi participated in awareness programme on 'Saaf Hyderabad and Shaandaar Hyderabad' in Stalinnagar, New Prashanthnagar, Gurnath Cheruvu, Vishwanath Gardens and planted saplings. Similar awareness drive was also conducted in N A Nagar, Shantinagar, Shivajinagar, Gulmohar Park, Subash Chandrabose Nagar.

Addressing the gathering, the Mayor and the commissioner stated that the HMWSSB would conduct a survey on issues related to water conservation and avoiding wastage.

They said while red colour would be marked on houses which waste water, orange would be used for those adopting some steps to save water, green to those without wasting water, but not having Rain Water Harvesting Structures (RWHS) and blue to those which don't waste water, have RWHS and follow guidelines. They said already an awareness drive on water was conducted among people.

They said drones would be used for removal of hyacinth and for checking mosquito menace in Gurnadham Cheruvu, and stressed the importance of setting up RWHS and planting saplings.

Among the officials who participated in the programmes were GHMC Zonal Commissioner Harichandana, Deputy Commissioners Yadagiri Rao, Venkanna, representatives of colony welfare associations, corporators Meka Ramesh, Ragam Nagender Yadav, Jagdishwar Goud and Sindhu Adarsh Reddy.
