Rachakonda Commissioner of Police inspects security

Abdullapurmet: Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Mahesh Bhagwath inspected the polling centers for 11 MPTC and one ZPTC in Abdullapur mandal, where the first phase of local elections was being held on Monday and reviewed the security arrangements at each of the polling centres.

During his visit to the polling centers, he interacted with senior citizens who came to vote at the centers and enquired from them on the arrangements made at polling centers. Interacting with the police staff, he instructed them to ensure that voters do not face any problem.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that necessary security arrangements were made at the polling centers in the mandalin which a total of 37,646 voters from 18 villages would cast their votes on Monday.There are 72 polling centres in the mandal and 425 people have been appointed for election duties. Five returning officers, four assistant returning officers, two zonal officers, two micro observers and two webcasting teams have been appointed to monitor the polling process, he said.

Mahesh Bhagawat appealed to the people to cooperate with the police and election officials in conducting the elections smoothly. He said that the police have already conducted awareness sessions on elections. Stringent action would be taken against those who violate election norms, he said.
