Railway Protection Force conducts awareness rally at Secunderabad

Secunderabad: The Raising Day Week is being celebrated at various railway stations in the state for a week by Railway Protection Force (RPF) from September 20. This was stated by Railway Senior Divisional Security Commissioner Ramakrishna here at Secunderabad railway station on Sunday. As part of celebrations, awareness rally was conducted by RPF at Secunderabad railway station platform and explained various precautions to be taken by railway passengers during their railway journey.

A N Sinha, Inspector General and Director of RPF/TC-MLY, reviewed the parade and took the salute from the marching contingents. The parade was commanded by D K Ratnam, Inspector-CDI. In his address, A N Sinha advised the RPF officers and staff to strive towards ensuring fool-proof safety and security to railway passengers. To mark the occasion a shooting competition was held amongst the trainees. S N Poornima, Head Constable, Bangalore Division, bagged the first prize, followed by Raghavendra Singh, Constable, Secunderabad Division.

The winners were presented with awards by A N Sinha, IG-Director. He also rewarded B K Hake, Head Constable/TC-MLY who had secured gold medal in All India RPF Shooting Competition-2019, and T Sekhar, Constable/TC-MLY who had secured gold medal in Archery event (50 m event) in Inter Railway RPF Archery Competition- 2019.

RPF also distributed pamphlets to passengers explaining precautions to be taken during railway journey. Ramakrishna urged passengers to cooperate with RPF and GRP in conducting their duties more effectively to provide safety to them.

He appealed passengers to contact RPF by calling 182 in the event of any problems during their railway journey. Passengers can call RPF number or complain at next railway station if they face any problem. He also urged passengers to call to RPF number if any miscreant enters women's bogey and engages in eve-teasing.
