Residents clear choking of nala

Safilguda: This is an incident of public cooperation to the administration in tackling civic issues. The GHMC staff was busy attending to relief works in the aftermath of heavy rains. Residents of Safilguda went a mile further, without waiting for the GHMC staff and cleaned the nala at mini tank bund here on Friday. The nala was jammed due to the waste, especially plastic material thrown recklessly. The outlet of the pipe near Krupa complex was chocked the water.

Some of the walkers and joggers at the tank bund spotted this problem and voluntarily removed wastage materials and cleared the grass and weeds which were restricting free flow of water.

Srinivas and Murali, participants in this event, said that as the jamming of nala posed a danger they had taken this issue to the notice of officials several times. Getting no response, they themselves conducted a swachh drive at the bund.
