Residents fume over drain overflow

Sapthagiri Nagar: Overflowing drains has been a constant problem for the residents of Sapthagiri Nagar for the past 15 days. There is a menace of overflowing drain at the entry of the colony. The internal pipelines seemed to be damaged and drain water has been over flowing through the roads.

Road side vendors on either side of the road reports their pain and struggle. "As the drain water flows in front of the shops, our business has been affected badly as no one tends to walk over the drain water," said a vendor.

"There are 2 schools within the radius of 20 meters from the overflowing drain. It is very difficult for the students to cross the road. The water flowing is really a sight of disgust and dismay," says residents.

Besides overflowing drainage, pathetic roads and lack of police personnel has made the road a chaotic place to traffic jams. "We request the authorities to look into the issue at the earliest and spare the residents and students of the colony from the further damage," said Sudha Madhavi, co-ordinator of Geetanjali school.
