Residents on the edge over mosquito menace

Vani Nagar: A dump yard located in a colony at Vani Nagar in Chintal is posing danger of triggering an epidemic of vector-borne diseases as there is a huge rise in mosquito population during the monsoon. Residents fear the spread of mosquito-borne diseases in the area due to the mosquito menace.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Monday, Malavi, a resident, whose house is located near the dump yard, alleged that there was no response from authorities concerned or the local corporator on the issue despite lodging several complaints.

Another resident Varudhi said, "It has become very difficult to live in this area, but we are forced to live here as we have spent lakhs of rupees on our house." It was high time the local corporator and authorities concerned found a permanent solution to the issue, she added.
