Rich tributes paid to Mahatma

Uppal: The 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was celebrated at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Uppal in a grand manner. After lighting of the lamp and garlanding the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Sastry by Srinivasa Raju, principal, and other dignitaries, prayer was conducted.

Around 300 students, 250 parents and all the staff members attended the programme. All the students, parents and teachers headed by principal, VP and HM took part in Plogging - a type of jogging and collecting the trash on the way.

It was coordinated by traffic police of Uppal and GHMC. NCC students of the vidyalaya holding placards chanted slogans against the use of plastic .At Uppal X Road a pledge was taken to keep the Uppal area clean and green.
