Road repair works at a brisk pace
Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner M Dana Kishore said that they have filled the 4,000 potholes which were identified across the city and that they sanctioned Rs 34.45 crore for taking up 221 works for restoration of roads in the city.
The Commissioner along with chief engineer Ziaudiin inspected the works of damaged roads at various places here on Wednesday. He instructed the engineers to take up the works on a war footing as soon as the rain stops in the city and said that tendering had been completed for 201 works among 221 works so far.
The city has 6,000-km internal roads, most of which have been damaged due to continuous rains. Kishore instructed the engineers to collect all the details of roads– damaged and repaired –and potholes in all the circles from the officials concerned from Thursday.
He instructed the officials to provide sand and cement to the existing monsoon relief teams and to fill the potholes in the internal roads across the city.
