Roads full of potholes unsafe for ride: Locals

Secunderabad Cantonment: With roads in Marredpally in areas like Ambedkarnagar and Shenoy Nursing Home becoming unfit for use because of many potholes, people are suffering untold hardships. Local residents are blaming lack of official supervision and the contractors not observing quality norms for their woes.

Expressing anguish during interaction with The Hans India, the residents say that the problem gets complicated during the monsoon, as the potholes become deep posing a threat to the road-users. They point out that some of the roads, like the AOC and Marredpally-Secunderabad stretches, were laid in 2017, but were not repaired later from time to time. Because of the potholes, people have suffered falls and sustained injuries during nights. Auto-rickshaws and two-wheelers are getting damaged.

Local residents allege that several representations to local MLA G Sayanna and the Cantonment Board officials have been ignored and no repair works have been taken up till date. They have appealed in petitions to the board officials for either repairs to the roads in East Marredpally, Tukaramgate, West Marredpally to Secunderabad, or laying of new roads.
