Roads turn into rivulets; rains likely to continue
Hyderabad: True to the forecast of Skymet and TSDPS, the city of Hyderabad received some mild to moderate rains in the latter part of the day on Monday. They had predicted only a moderate rainfall.
The Telangana State Development and Planning Society said that the temperature in the city may go up to a maximum of 43 degrees accompanied with rainfalls of 0.3 to 2.5 mm in the coming 72 hours. The sudden heavy showers for a few hours inundated many low-lying areas causing inconvenience to the motorists and pedestrians in Hyderabad.
Thunderstorms are likely to occur in the city for the coming three to four days, which would be mild in nature with no major downpours as such. True to the commoners' refrain that when it drizzles, it floods in Hyderabad, showers on Monday evening caused flood-like situation in lanes and by-lanes as well as in the main thoroughfares.
